Think about the baseline characteristics of each, the process of change and the continuities and changes that emerge.
What does WWI impact these societies? What ideas or topics elicit the attention of these nations? How successful are they in achieving their goals?

Think about their goals and objectives, the methods used, the characteristics of their leaders, the impact of the revolutions, their successes and failures.

1750-1914 Q4: Compare and contrast Ottoman and Japanese responses to modernization and Westernization

Think about ifthey embrace dor rejected these changes, how the changes ocurred and in what areas were they implemented. What was the impact of adopting or not adopting the changes? Were they forced or embraced? How does their experience compare to that of China or Korea?

1750-1914 Q3: Compare and contrast Pan-Africanism with the Indian National Congress movement

Think abou their goals and the methods they used, against whom they were fighting and if they reached their objectives. What did they have in common? What differences emerged?

Think about their goals and objectives, the methods that they used, the outcome of the revolutions, the issues and groups involved, the impact on other nations, the social and political structure and whether their objectives were achieved.

Think about how the system impacted the type and quality of the Chinese government, who used it and who didn't, how it could affect social mobility, who could/could not take it.

Think about who had power, how wide-spread political participation was, types of immigrants, gender relations, major economic activities, how tightly/loosely they were controlled by their respective crowns, citizenship and voting rights, relations with Native Americans, etc.

Remember not just to describe each, but also to indicate similarities and differences. Why were they similar? Why were they different? (In other words, what accounts for these similarities or differences?) Are they more similar or more different? Which of the categories has the most similarities or the most differences?
